About the Role

Noor Academy is seeking an energetic, caring part-time Physical Education teacher to lead our K–4th students in a fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate PE program. The ideal candidate builds a lifelong love of movement, teaches fundamental motor and fitness skills, and helps every child feel confident and included—regardless of ability level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach standards-aligned PE lessons for students in grades K–4th, appropriate to each age and skill level.
  • Develop fundamental movement skills (locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative), coordination, balance, and overall fitness.
  • Introduce age-appropriate games, sports concepts, and cooperative activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe environment where all students are encouraged to participate and succeed.
  • Manage equipment, gym/field space, and class routines to ensure student safety at all times.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback aligned to [state/SHAPE America] physical education standards.
  • Adapt activities to accommodate varying abilities and needs.
  • Communicate with classroom teachers, families, and administration as needed.
  • Support a culture of health, effort, and respect throughout the school community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Experience teaching or coaching elementary-age children preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to keep young students engaged and safe.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate physical development and PE best practices.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred. 
  • Warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all state employment requirements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to actively participate in and demonstrate physical activities, move around a gymnasium and outdoor spaces, and lift/arrange equipment (up to 30 lbs).
