JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) will lead operations and ensure clinical excellence. The PIC will oversee pharmacy operations, drive quality assurance, manage regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for a pharmacist passionate about advancing care in complex therapeutic areas such as substance use disorder, oncology, hepatitis C, and chronic inflammatory conditions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Oversight & Patient Care
- Provide comprehensive clinical oversight for all pharmacy operations.
- Ensure optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based medication management.
- Oversee dispensing operations for facility-directed and patient-direct services.
- Lead clinical initiatives in LAI injectables, oncology, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
- Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations with focus on efficiency, quality, and financial health.
- Develop and implement operational processes supporting pharmacy growth into new markets.
- Oversee medical billing operations for healthcare-administered drugs.
- Maintain URAC accreditation and ensure adherence to all applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs.
- Maintain pharmacy licenses, certifications, and regulatory documentation.
- Supervise and mentor a pharmacy team including one technician, one RCM specialist, and four MedVa technicians.
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered team culture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing professional development.
- Build and scale the pharmacy team as operations expand.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Active Arizona pharmacist license (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of specialty pharmacy experience.
- At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with infusion and injectable therapies.
- Medical billing experience for healthcare-administered drugs.
- Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) designation.
- Experience maintaining URAC accreditation standards.
- Background in SUD treatment, LAI therapy management, or oncology pharmacy.
- Experience with direct-to-facility dispensing models.
