We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Molecular Laboratory Scientist to support and enhance the delivery of patient care through advanced molecular testing, data analysis, and technical leadership. This role is responsible for complex diagnostic testing, validation initiatives, quality oversight, and mentorship of laboratory personnel.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on molecular expertise, experience in regulated clinical laboratory environments, and the ability to independently troubleshoot, optimize workflows, and contribute to continuous laboratory improvement.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform complex molecular diagnostic testing in accordance with established SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Conduct nucleic acid extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows.
- Interpret and perform in-depth primary and secondary review of test results to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
- Analyze and validate data prior to final release.
- Lead and oversee quality control procedures for assays, equipment, and reagents.
- Participate in and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, GCP, and other regulatory/accreditation standards.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in assay development, optimization, and validation studies.
- Assist in the implementation of new testing platforms and technologies.
- Contribute to documentation updates, SOP revisions, and technical protocols.
- Evaluate assay performance and recommend improvements.
- Oversee instrument setup, calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Support inventory management and reagent tracking.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior laboratory staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with laboratory leadership and research teams.
- Assist in training and competency assessments of laboratory personnel.
- Communicate findings and technical updates clearly across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related scientific field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a clinical molecular laboratory environment.
- Experience in high-complexity testing preferred.
- Prior involvement in validation studies and assay implementation strongly preferred.
- Advanced experience with nucleic acid extraction, PCR / qPCR, RT-PCR, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Strong understanding of molecular assay development and validation processes.
- Knowledge of GCP and regulatory laboratory standards (CLIA/CAP preferred).
- Proficiency in sterile technique.
- Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interpret complex molecular results independently.
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred.
