The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW – CWEL Certified) provides trauma-informed clinical services, case management, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to young women residing in a transitional living program. This position focuses on helping residents achieve emotional stability, develop independent living skills, address behavioral and mental health concerns, and successfully transition into adulthood through individualized treatment planning and community collaboration.

The LCSW works closely with program staff, community partners, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and child welfare agencies to ensure residents receive comprehensive, person-centered care. The CWEL certification supports collaboration with Illinois child welfare agencies and direct service to youth involved in the child welfare system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial, behavioral health, and trauma assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and transition plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling utilizing evidence-based therapeutic practices.
  • Conduct crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and stabilization services.
  • Support residents with emotional regulation, coping strategies, conflict resolution, and life transitions.
  • Coordinate services with DCFS, probation officers, schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies as appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal requirements.
  • Assist residents in accessing housing, education, employment, healthcare, financial assistance, and other community resources.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to residential staff regarding resident behavior, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Educate residents on healthy relationships, independent living skills, self-advocacy, and personal wellness.
  • Participate in after-hours crisis response as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, accreditation, Medicaid, HIPAA, and child welfare regulations.
  • Maintain professional licensure and complete all required continuing education.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Current Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
  • Current Illinois Child Welfare Employee License (CWEL) certification, if required for the program or applicable child welfare services.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with adolescents or young adults in residential treatment, transitional living, behavioral health, foster care, or child welfare settings preferred.
  • Experience working with trauma, abuse, neglect, family systems, and behavioral health disorders.
  • Knowledge of Illinois child welfare regulations and community resources.
  • Strong crisis intervention, assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving transition-age youth (ages 16–24).
  • Training in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), DBT, Motivational Interviewing, or similar evidence-based interventions.
  • Experience with Medicaid billing and electronic health records.
